Starting Rate of Pay: $30.00 - $33.67 per hour. The rate of pay will depend on qualifications.

IntroductionThe Information Systems Technician assists IT staff with technical support of desktop computers, applications, and related technology and assisting employees in the use of such equipment.
Essential Functions- Install, configure, and assist in maintaining computer systems, software, network switches, cabling, telephony and all supporting infrastructure.
- Install, configure, and assist in supporting the Lincoln Airport Security System including access control and security cameras.
- Provide technical assistance to employees involved in the operation of computers and related equipment; train employees in the use of software, computers and other automated office equipment.
- Troubleshoot functional problems and perform repairs as needed and installs software, cabling, access control, telephony, security cameras, access points and peripherals.
- Must attend work regularly at the designated place and time.
- Reliable, punctual attendance is a crucial function of the position.
- Other duties, tasks, and responsibilities may be assigned at any time.
Desirable Knowledge, Abilities and Skills- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to analyze problems and to organize their component parts into logical steps.
- Ability to exhibit independent judgment and initiative in prevention and remediation of computer system and network system problems.
- Ability to utilize technical manuals relating to operating system operations, software operations, hardware operations and wiring.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Thorough knowledge of standard practices, material, tools, and equipment of the trade.
- Considerable knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions which must be taken.
- Ability to work well independently and follow directions.

Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Associate Degree in computer science or related field is preferred.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- One year of experience is preferred.

Safety RequirementsAdherence to standards established in the LAA Employee Handbook, Policy Directives, Airport Rules and Regulations, and Standard Operating Procedures, and all other established safety requirements applicable to the position is required.
Work EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to risk of electrical shock. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts. The employee occasionally works in high places and in outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Successful completion of pre-employment reference check, criminal history check (required by the Transportation Security Administration), physical assessment, drug screening and MVR (motor vehicle report), and other requirements as per Lincoln Airport Authority policy. Any associated costs for the screenings will be covered by the Lincoln Airport Authority. The employee must possess when hired, and maintain while employed, a valid State of Nebraska driver’s license and be insurable under normal rates.
