The mission of the Allen Institute administration team is to provide support and structure to the scientific divisions. Coinciding with the team science approach, administration helps facilitate team learning and the overall mission of the institute.
We are seeking an Information Security Analyst III to lead incident and vulnerability management, provide security recommendations for Allen Institute daily operations, and collaborate with administrative and scientific units on InfoSec initiatives. You will report to the IT Business Operations Manager and help shape the direction of security efforts across the organization.

Essential Functions
- Manage our security monitoring platform and respond to network and endpoint events
- Understand vulnerabilities and provide relevant guidance to other teams
- Assist in analyzing and defining security requirements
- Review and provide counsel on firewall settings
- Run forensic examinations on desktop and mobile platforms
- Assess Software as a Service (SaaS) products for security compliance
- Maintain regular reporting on incident status, support issues, and progress toward security goals
- Recommend training resources, determine training cadence

Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of degree and experience required
- 5-year equivalent experience
- Experience in IT environments with strong security practices
- Experience with Windows and Mac platforms
- Expert knowledge in Information Security fundamentals (threat modeling, penetration testing, incident response, network security/firewalls, physical security, VPN, etc.)
- Knowledge and experience with identity and cloud security technologies
- Experience working on large-scale projects
Preferred Education and Experience
- 7 years equivalent experience
- Information security related certificate such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, CCNP, Security+, SANs
- Knowledge and experience with the M365 security tools such as Defender and Sentinel
- Experience with industry standards such as HIPPA, ISO 27001, ISO 31000, NIST
- Familiarity with Linux and TCP/IP networking fundamentals
- Experience with security concerns in scientific research
- Familiarity with ServiceNow
- Experience leading and designing large-scale projects
- Experience leading, training, mentoring peers
Physical Demands
- Fine motor movements in fingers/hands to operate computers and other office equipment
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
- This role is currently working onsite and is expected to work onsite for the majority of working hours. The primary work location for this role is 615 Westlake Ave N.
- Occasional evening and weekend hours required

Annualized Salary Range
$101,250 - $148,500 *
* Final salary depends on the required education for the role, experience, level of skills relevant to the role, and work location, where applicable.
