As an Infection Preventionist you will:
- Consult with physicians, managers, and staff for the management of infectious and/or immune-suppressed patients.
- Implements an effective hospital-wide infection control program in keeping with Centers for Disease Control (CDC), TJC, and other regulatory agencies.
- Develops and updates isolation techniques and procedures in accordance with current standards of practice, rules, and regulations.
- Participates in maintaining policies and procedures which provide for a program of preventive activities for hospital personnel to include establishment of policies and procedures relating to exposure to infectious diseases and prevention of cross-contamination.
- Maintains a knowledge base of current infection prevention and control information through peer networking, internet access, published literature and professional
- In depth knowledge of HAI prevention practices, and hospital based HAI surveillance, using National Healthcare Safety Network protocols and analysis
- Ability to work with diverse professionals and to train and educate healthcare providers
- Executes walking rounds assessing segments of the patients at risk for infection and monitoring the use of transmission based precautions, CLABSI & CAUTI bundles, HH, PPE
- Travel across the system is required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in nursing or healthcare related field.
- Master’s degree in clinical specialty preferred.
- Current State RN license required (Or 1 year of Infection Preventionist experience)
- Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may substitute for education requirements.
- Advanced educational preparation in healthcare infection prevention.
- Preferably a minimum of one year in infection control practice.
- CIC certification preferred, required within 6 months of hire.
- Minimum of 1 year Infection Preventionist experience
- Experience in Infection Control with basic knowledge of NHSN

Pay: $25.00 - $38.00 per hour
