Job Summary
Shop Helpers are responsible for performing and assisting with a wide range of duties. The employee will assist the Lead Shop Tech and Branch Manager with a wide range of administrative and maintenance tasks within the calibration shop and branch. The ideal candidate should have a strong technical aptitude, be adaptable and a quick learner, and able to learn about and work on a variety of equipment and with various systems.
Responsibilities
Your duties will include, but not be limited to:
- Reporting to work ready & fit for duty, with timely attendance.
- Completing all company & customer paperwork, reports, and job tickets in a timely manner.
- Assisting with furnishing data-logs in a timely manner when applicable.
- Support on-site activities and schedules with the operations team.
- When needed, loading & unloading equipment for field service jobs.
- Maintaining a clean and safe work area and vehicle.
- Equipment Maintenance, Calibration, and Repair:
- Assist with routine maintenance, inspections, calibrations, and repairs on a variety of industrial equipment, machinery, and systems, including calibration and/or repair of customer and in-house tools.
- Support troubleshooting of equipment issues to identify root causes and implement effective repair solutions.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance and repair activities, including logs, inspection reports, and service records.
- Inventory Management:
- Assist with management of inventory levels of parts, tools, and supplies and inform Shop Lead of items that need fulfilled or adjusted.
- Request necessary materials and equipment to ensure smooth operations.
- Maintain an organized and efficient shop environment.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain detailed records of all maintenance, repair, and fabrication activities.
- Generate reports as needed for management and compliance purposes.
- Document any modifications or improvements made to equipment or systems.
Skills
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following skills:
Proficiency in using power tools and hand tools
- Familiarity with warehouse operations
- Ability to operate a forklift (certification preferred)
- Strong mechanical knowledge and aptitude
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings or instructions
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Good physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
