Snapshot of this role:
You will be part of our refurbishment team assisting with the cosmetic repair process of medical imaging device parts (covers) by preparing, priming, and resurfacing parts.
Responsibilities:
- Clean surfaces of work pieces and make repairs in preparation for coating, using brushes, scrapers, compressed air, sandpaper, or cloth.
- Conceal blemishes in work pieces, such as nicks and dents, using fillers such as putty.
- Apply coatings, such as paint or lacquer, to protect work piece (e.g. covers of medical systems) surfaces, using spray guns, rollers, or brushes.
- Examine finished surfaces of work pieces to verify conformance to specifications; then retouch any defective areas where necessary.
- Clean and maintain tools and equipment, using solvents, brushes, and rags.
- Place coated work pieces in drying cabin for specified times in order to dry or harden finishes.
- Select and mix ingredients to prepare coating substances according to specifications, using paddles or mechanical mixers.
- Operate and maintain spray booth.
- Required to wear employee protective equipment (incl. respirators) at all times while refurbishing medical system parts.
- Maintain clean and orderly work area; follow safe operations procedures and comply with all safety rules at all times.
- Regularly provide information to the department manager on team and work progresses.
- Perform other duties as needed to help work teams.
Skills:
- Experience with industrial painting techniques and equipment
- Automotive painting skills, including color matching and blending techniques
- Understanding of medial imaging equipment covers and surface area repairs and finishing is a plus
- Ability to operate a forklift safely and efficiently is a plus
- Basic machining skills for surface preparation and finishing
- COVID-19 vaccination proof (our frontline teams are required to be vaccinated in order to work in hospitals and we as a company support them by having all of our employees vaccinated)
