Structural Steel Painter
Crane Equipment and Service, Inc. is seeking an experienced individual with a technical background to fill our Painter Position.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Wear the required safety equipment that complies with the tasks being performed.
- Fill out required daily time sheets, work orders, and paint document logs.
- Able to calculate daily VOC usage.
- Has experience in paint mixing and maintaining the supply of paint.
- Able to read and interpret blueprints/drawings to determine finish requirements regarding masking of non-painted surfaces.
- Surface cleaning and metal preparation; Must meet standard SSPC-SP-2, SSPC-SP-3on all production.
- Mask part surfaces for an area to be isolated using masking tape and other controlled methods.
- Remove painted parts from the paint line and de-mask if needed.
- Must have experience rigging, and operating power-related equipment, and overhead cranes.
- Remove painted parts from the paint line and de-mask.
- Able to inspect painted surfaces and identify paint defects. Defects to be identified: runs, sags, orange peel, and improper surface finishes.
- Able to repair defective paint areas without assistance.
- Inspects, tests, cleans, repairs, and services spray guns and other spray-painting equipment.
- Will perform routine PM on paint booths and equipment.
- The goal is to maintain a daily work order labor efficiency of 85%.
- Daily clean-up of paint booth, mixing equipment, and surrounding area, while keeping an organized workspace.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Overtime/weekends can be required.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- 3 years of industrial paint prepping and/or industrial painting experience.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Prior certification or training in paint mixing and application on steel material.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
