Job Description

We’re seeking the right team member to assist with the overall upkeep of the company’s property. Are you ready to use your technical skills in a team environment?


As an Industrial Maintenance Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the uninterrupted operation of our manufacturing equipment and facilities. You will be responsible for performing routine/planned maintenance, troubleshooting and repairing machinery, and supporting our commitment to safety, quality, and efficiency. The team member will respond to radio calls for maintenance issues in a timely manner and must be available during plant off hours. This team member will repair manufacturing equipment and ensure that the buildings are well maintained.


***This position works a scheduled four (4) day work week (Mon. - Thur.). Work shifts are ten (10) hours, flexible between 6:00am and 6:00pm.***


Competencies

  • Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on manufacturing machinery, including but not limited to CNC machines, welding equipment, presses, and assembly lines.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to minimize downtime and maintain production schedules.
  • Document all maintenance activities, including parts used, repairs made, and maintenance schedules.
  • Identify and resolve equipment malfunctions promptly to minimize production disruptions.
  • Collaborate with production personnel to identify and address recurring issues affecting productivity.
  • Utilize technical manuals and diagrams to diagnose and repair complex machinery.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines, promoting a safe working environment
  • Ensure that machinery and equipment comply with regulatory standards and safety codes
  • Participate in safety training and contribute to the development of safety procedures.
  • Maintain an organized inventory of spare parts, tools, and supplies necessary for maintenance activities.
  • Coordinate with the procurement department to order replacement parts when needed
  • Work closely with other Maintenance Technicians, engineers, and production staff to address maintenance-related issues and optimize equipment performance.
  • Provide training and guidance to junior technicians as needed.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate's degree in Industrial Maintenance or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience as an Industrial Maintenance Technician in a manufacturing environment, preferably in boat manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Proficient in using hand and power tools, as well as diagnostic equipment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Understanding of safety regulations and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts and respond to maintenance emergencies as needed.
  • Working knowledge and repair experience on hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic, mechanical and electrical systems
  • Experience performing routine maintenance on HVAC equipment and related systems
  • HVAC certification preferred
  • Electrical certification preferred
  • OSHA Forklift certification preferred

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud and is non-climate controlled.


Physical Requirements

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements may include eye protection, hearing protection, gloves, protective suits, dusts masks and respirators.
  • Exhibits ability to work cautiously but efficiently in potentially hazardous conditions.
  • The Industrial Maintenance Technician must be capable of lifting and carrying objects weighing up to fifty (50) pounds on a regular basis. This may include lifting heavy equipment components, tools, and materials.
  • This position may require the ability to climb ladders, stairs, and work at elevated heights as needed for maintenance tasks. The technician should be comfortable working in these conditions and following all safety procedures related to elevated work.
  • Some maintenance tasks may require crawling into tight spaces or confined areas to access and repair machinery components. The technician should be physically capable of performing tasks in these environments.

These physical requirements are essential for the successful execution of maintenance duties and ensuring the safety of both the technician and the workplace. Candidates should be prepared to meet these physical demands as an integral part of the job.
