Job Description
Duties:
- Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment.
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
- Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities.
- Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot problems with HVAC equipment.
- Repair or replace defective equipment, components, or wiring on HVAC equipment.
- Carry out preventative maintenance tasks and inspections on HVAC equipment.
- Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
- Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.
- Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
- Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
- Comply with OSHA safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical problems (3 phase experience)
- Ability to work with Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), set up motor control panels.
- Welding operations of regular and stainless steel a plus
- Troubleshoot and installation of motors and pump
- Ability to work in a cold environment (36-40 degrees) for extensive periods of time
- Must be able to lift 50lbs
- Industrial equipment, including moving conveyors and other electrically energizes machinery
- Heavy forklift traffic
- Concrete flooring, often wet
- Noise Level: High
- Must be able to walk frequently on flat terrain
- Must be able to perform repetitive motion
- An AA degree in mechanical, electrical or industrial maintenance.
- High School diploma/GED
- Minimum 4 years’ experience of manufacturing production maintenance experience
- 2+ years of manufacturing experience; strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and industrial electrical skills.
- 3-5 years’ apprenticeship under a journeyperson preferred
- Certification or associate’s degree from an HVAC program at a technical school required
- Must hold state HVAC technician license
- Previous on the job training a plus
- Strong verbal communication skills, ability to explain complex HVAC issues
- Basic mathematical knowledge required.
