Job Description
Position is responsible to plan, coordinate and track BA driven Manufacturing Process and Engineering (MPE) activities, with focus on optimization of plant utilization, efficiency/throughput increase, variable headcount, layout and workflow improvement (e.g. tracking and evaluation of performance of equipment OEE as well as headcount efficiency; cost improvement initiatives across the BA and ensure rollout of BoB (Best of Best) initiatives; Drive implementation of production concepts inc. layout optimization; ...), in order to meet the defined department strategy/targets and contribute to the achievement of the BA goals. Furthermore, supports the implementation of strategic footprint initiatives and closely collaborates with Supply Chain Management(SCM). Position is hybrid but has to be located at a Conti Tech IAM location.
Machine Performance and Cost Improvement:
- Drive BA continuous improvement initiatives(e.g. cost saving) by applying project management and lean/CBS methods, collaborating closely with the plants in achieving budget targets
- Drive implementation of equipment efficiency key indicators(e.g. OEE, kg/hour), respective data collection and support plants in implementation
- Utilization of defined KPIs, benchmark processes or other methods, to identify equipment/process losses and respective improvement actions, supporting plants in implementation
- Ensure sharing of best practices across all plants and drive implementation when applicable
Labor Efficiency:
- Drive implementation of variable headcount efficiency key indicators(e.g. kg/manhour, pieces/manhour), respective data collection and support plants in implementation
- Implementation of benchmark processes, or other methods, in order to identify value-added and non-value-added activities (e.g. operational labor efficiency) with the goal to optimize labor utilization
- Support plants in developing a comprehensive variable headcount plan to optimize staffing levels ensuring operational efficiency
- Implementation of BA standard methods to support the plants to align staffing needs with business goals, considering market demand and respective production volumes and evaluating labor productivity and budget constraints
Production Design and Layout:
- Drive BA specific standard production design strategy including layout for product groups or processes and support plants in implementation.
- Support plants with the creation of optimized layouts for equipment, materials, and workspace in order to achieve maximum efficiency
- Ensure implementation of Sector M&E standards related with production flow chart, production control plan and work instructions. If applicable, define and maintain BA specific standards
Plant and Equipment Capacity:
- Drive implementation of equipment and plant capacity utilization key indicators (e.g.TEEP, Working Days,..), respective data collection and support plants in implementation
- Drive together with the plants the implementation of a BA strategy for de-bottlenecking of critical equipment
- Support BA specific strategy to optimize equipment utilization by providing accurate and reliable data for the decision making process, in close alignment with Manufacturing Clusters and SCM
- Support BA specific footprint strategy by providing accurate and reliable data in terms of plant utilization, in close alignment with Manufacturing Clusters and Footprint.
Training and Coaching:
- Support the continuous qualification of ME and PPI employees in the plants
Monitoring and Reporting:
- Drive operational production equipment performance monitoring and reporting
- Drive reporting and transparency in regards of variable headcount utilization

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- University degree in electrical/mechanical/manufacturing engineering or similar
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience with 3 years min of experience in process engineering and/or production functions
- Comprehensive experience in rubber and plastic production processes and ramp-up projects
- Experienced in leading technical teams, preferably with functional and disciplinary responsibility for other individuals
- Project management skills, tools and techniques
- Experience in working with international teams on production topics and understanding of foreign cultures
- Proficient in English language
- Flexibility to travel 30-40% annually

Preferred Qualifications:
- 7 years experience in manufacturing related technologies, systems, infrastructures, standards and processes
- Manufacturing processing know how and methods (e.g. PFMEA, Process release)
- Cross-functional experience e.g. in engineering, quality or CBS
- Product knowledge (functionalities and applications)
- Quality management (including quality policies, systems and processes)
- Problem solving and decision making tools and techniques
- Lean production/CBS principles, methods and tools Management skills, tools and techniques (e.g. balanced scorecard, benchmarking)
- Human relations skills (team skills, conflict management, open-mindedness, networking, moderation and negotiation)
