The Yellowstone Plant Engineer's primary responsibility will be to assist in design, electrical, mechanical, environmental, and layout development work in connection with equipment, new construction, or arrangements in plant facilities.

A Day in the Life of a Yellowstone Plant Engineer:
Responsibilities & Duties
- Follow safety guidelines and proper use of PPE at all times
- Prepares designs and layouts for review
- Provide operational and technical support to the plant technicians
- Perform activities to improve the reliability and efficiency of plant operations
- Coordinate and supervise project implementation, control project costs, and monitor progress and quality of projects
- Estimates labor and material requirements for engineering construction projects
- Establishes a course of action to accomplish completion of the job and/or project
- Coordinates input from internal/external customers to better understand and meet customer needs and/or perceptions
- Keeps abreast of current product developments and trends in areas of expertise
- Assesses building systems to plan work assignments and project schedules
- Actively identifies new areas for learning and takes advantage of learning opportunities
- Work closely with Facilities Manager to ensure goals are being met
- Work in Office and Industrial setting in the Hot Dip Galvanizing plant, Fabrication Plant, and any future plants
- Work may also involve occasional instruction and training of a small group of employees
- Assist in affiliated plant in Pulaski, PA, as needed
- Perform related duties as assigned
Qualifications & Skills
- Knowledge of building codes and construction techniques
- High level of analytical ability and problem-solving skills where problems are complex
- Demonstrated technical and professional skills in job-related areas required
- Employ Interpersonal styles and communication methods to work effectively with internal and external partners to effectively meet goals
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, auto-cad, or similar software
- Knowledge of additional computer software as it pertains to engineering
- Education in electrical or Mechanical engineering
- Ability to work in an environment consisting of both Office and Industrial plant setting
- Preferred: Minimum of 5 years direct experience in electrical automation in manufacturing, commissioning, or service for electrical automation systems in steel or similar heavy industry
- Preferred: Proficiency with Industrial process automation systems, with a focus on Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Motor Control utilizing Variable Frequency Drives
