Basic Functions:
Primary responsibilities for this position include the establishment of work methods, improvement, of new and existing processes, development labor costs standards, estimating labor on engineering requests, and material handling methods to integrate operations as a whole to improve the overall efficiency of the operation.
Specific Duties:
- Develops layouts and concepts for the plant for new and existing processes in the operation.
- Keeps the CAD layout of the plant up to date for future planning.
- Designs, quotes, orders, and expedites material handling equipment for all phases of the operation.
- Performs methods and workflow analysis to select the most appropriate tools and equipment for individual processes.
- Participates in training programs for both Industrial Engineering and supervisory personnel. Must understand all production departments within the plant.
- Establishes and periodically audits labor cost standards by either predetermined and/or stopwatch labor measurement systems. Must be well versed in both.
- Supplies data for evaluation of potential capital expenditures by preparing an analysis of current versus proposed processing.
- Reviews technical literature to keep up to date and to implement the latest technology.
- Review and analyze daily labor reports and take corrective action as required.
- This position will support product launches, equipment installations, and process improvements.
