Industrial Engineer

Sweetwater, the nation's #1 online retailer of pro audio equipment and music instruments is seeking to hire an Industrial Engineer who will work closely with all operations within the Sweetwater fulfillment network. This role also provides cross-functional support within the organization to refine processes and generate cost savings. Primary responsibilities will be at our Fort Wayne, IN facility while also providing situational support for a second facility in Phoenix, AZ

Shift:

•      1^st shift M-F

Responsibilities:

• Defining, maintaining, and reassessing engineered standards for all functional areas within the DC including operation wide KPIs (Key Performance Indicators)
• Identifying operational efficiency and process improvement opportunities to reduce waste, labor, and associated costs
• Evaluating automation possibilities and providing recommendations to streamline workflows
• Oversee implementation of approved automation and equipment
• Provides ad hoc and special project reporting to executive leadership
• Resolving technical process failures affecting DC operations
• Assessing current operations for redesign opportunities including materials, packaging, and equipment
• Collaborating with DC Project manager, Analysts, and maintenance teams as part of the DC Projects Team
• Assisting with building layout and design to maximize storage and throughput capacities and overall building flow
• Collaborating with production teams to validate and improve production schedules
• Ensuring quality control measures are in place and provide recommendations as needed
• Completing time studies
• Fulfilling other requests from VP of Distribution

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing/distribution environment, with a focus on Lean Manufacturing
• Strong understanding of Lean tools and methodologies, including Value Stream Mapping, 5S, and Kaizen
• Proficiency in data analysis and process improvement techniques
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization.
• Project management experience, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
• Lean Six Sigma certification is highly desirable

Physical Requirements:

• Industrial engineers may need to move around manufacturing facilities, warehouses, or other work environments to observe processes, collect data, and collaborate with team members. This may involve walking, standing, or climbing stairs.

This is a full-time position that would require working onsite at our headquarters in Fort Wayne, IN.
