JOB SUMMARY

The School of Engineering at Liberty University invites applicants for a position at the rank of Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Industrial and Systems Engineering. We’re looking for a dynamic Industrial and Systems engineer who will share his/her enthusiasm through research and excellent teaching. Areas of research interest include (but are not limited to): Model-based Systems Engineering; Systems design, integration, and architecting; System performance, analysis, improvement, and optimization; Systems modeling and simulation; Complex systems and socio-technological systems, and Data Analytics. Candidates in other areas may also be considered. Successful candidates will be expected to develop internationally-recognized, externally-funded, sustainable research programs and to make significant contributions to the department's teaching and service responsibilities.

The Liberty University School of Engineering (LUSE) comprises five departments (Civil, Computer, Electrical, Industrial and Systems, and Mechanical). The LUSE offers an ABET-accredited undergraduate program as well as graduate studies leading to M.S. and Ph.D. degrees. In addition, LUSE offers undergraduate, M.S., and Ph.D. distance learning programs as well as residential programs. The LUSE is growing as LU has invested in expanding the engineering program.

Candidates are expected to have demonstrated the ability to conduct research at the highest level and to have a record of, or the promise for, outstanding teaching, supervision of students, and service to the LUSE. Applicants must apply online by submitting a cover letter, curriculum vitae, names and contact information for at least three professional references and a pastoral reference, and one-page summaries for each of their research, teaching, and service plans. Applicants must clearly indicate in the cover letter their area of interest. The online applicant site can be accessed by going to https://jobs.liberty.edu. The search committee will begin screening of applicants immediately and will continue to accept applications until the position is filled.

Faculty members are expected to conduct state-of-the-art research, teach undergraduate and/or graduate level courses, and serve the LUSE. Faculty will also advise senior capstone courses as needed. Faculty will participate in the process of developing undergraduate engineering curriculum.
