Index Research Analyst

Job Description:

As an Index Research Analyst, you will be responsible for researching and implementing corporate actions and monitoring the daily calculation and file dissemination of VettaFi’s global index offering.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain a portfolio of global indexes covering various markets, industries, themes, and clients
• Validate daily index calculation and data dissemination is completed in accordance with index methodology guidelines through VettaFi’s proprietary index calculation platform
• Perform, monitor, and take appropriate action on various QA processes
• Research and monitor global corporate action announcements. Utilize internal and external datasets to ensure the accuracy of the action details
• Analyze the impact of the corporate action events and ensure the implementation is in line with the index’s methodology guidelines
• Communicate all necessary details for implementation with internal and external stakeholders
• Monitor various data feeds and ensure their accuracy: corporate actions, FX rates, exchange prices, etc.
• Create, maintain, and communicate regular index statistics to clients through factsheets, presentations, and other marketing collateral
• Build and implement automated custom reports for index licensees
• Respond to all types of index-related inquiries from clients from corporate actions to statistical analysis to sales collateral

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Information Systems, or similar
• 1-2 years of experience working in financial indexing, structured products, portfolio analysis, or research
• Advanced Excel knowledge is essential. Knowledge of VBA will be considered plus
• Fluency in SQL or other database management languages is preferred
• Ability to design, manipulate, and maintain large datasets
• Knowledge of portfolio theory and multi-asset allocation models
• Understanding of general financial/portfolio mathematics and statistics
• Understanding of the global regulations surrounding financial indexes and structured products will be considered a plus
• Comfortability managing multiple concurrent projects and deadlines
• Excellent interpersonal acumen with the ability to interact positively with coworkers and management
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to self-manage daily and monthly deadlines
