Position Summary:
The Music Appreciation Adjunct is responsible for providing instructional support through constructive, focused feedback to ensure students meet the established learning objectives. The primary function of the Adjunct will be responsible for answering emails for students and assisting with program related questions through distance education technologies.
Essential Job Functions:
- Objectively and accurately evaluate subjective exams against established grading keys and rubrics by providing effective, and constructive feedback to students that helps them see what needs improvement, as well as what was done well
- Answer student questions via email
- Respond to internal emails within 24 hours during the week and within 48 hours on the weekend
- Participate in accreditation as needed
- Participate in special grading projects as needed
- Answer student questions via phone (through scheduled appointments only)
- Participate in all policies required by Penn Foster including but not limited to Professional Development
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Arts or closely related discipline
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the Music Appreciation field
- Previous teaching experience preferred. Online teaching a plus
- Excellent computer skills along with the ability to troubleshoot minor technical issues.
- Experience in Adobe Creative Cloud, Specific applications include: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, (with some HTML and CSS knowledge), and Adobe Animate. Will also need to be familiar with Typography, Printing, E-Publishing, and Web Design.
- Must have access to high-speech internet and use personal PC/MAC
