Electrical Field Engineer
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Field Engineer with a strong background in electrical estimating. The ideal candidate will have an Alabama and/or Texas Electrical Contractor License or the qualifications sit and pass the State Electrical Contractor License exam. This candidate will play a critical role in our project development and execution process, utilize their knowledge of electrical construction and assist with estimating projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize electrical expertise to assess project requirements, review specifications, and develop comprehensive estimates for electrical systems and components.
- Collaborate with project stakeholders, including architects, contractors, and clients, to gather necessary information and ensure accurate estimation.
- Analyze blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to understand project scope and develop cost-effective solutions.
- Conduct on-site assessments and evaluations to gather data for estimation and identify potential challenges or opportunities.
- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates, including materials, labor, equipment, and overhead costs, while adhering to project timelines and budget constraints.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory requirements to ensure estimates are aligned with current standards and practices.
- Support project teams by providing technical expertise, guidance, and assistance throughout the bidding and procurement process.
- Collaborate with procurement and vendor management teams to secure competitive pricing and favorable terms for electrical materials and equipment.
- Participate in project kick-off meetings and discussions to communicate estimation details, clarify requirements, and address any concerns or questions from stakeholders.
- Assist in the development and refinement of estimating processes, tools, and templates to improve accuracy, efficiency, and consistency across projects.
- Maintain documentation and records related to estimating activities, including project files, cost breakdowns, and historical data for future reference and analysis.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field is a plus.
- Valid Alabama and/or Texas Contracting Electrical License required.
- Proven experience in electrical contracting, with a focus on estimating for construction projects.
- Proficiency in interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to accurately assess project requirements and develop comprehensive estimates.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Solid understanding of electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
- Proficiency in estimation software and tools.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
