Essential Function
This position applies Income Tax expertise to the Tax department in preparing and reviewing Income Tax returns and workpapers, preparing and reviewing quarterly and annual Income Tax provisions, and implementing Income Tax planning.
Primary Duties
50% Preparation and review of working papers, schedules, and reports for Income Tax returns and provisions.
25% Preparation and review of Income Tax payments, journal entries, and tax analysis.
10% Assist with implementation of complex Income Tax planning strategies.
10% Assist with gathering data for, responding to, and resolving Income Tax controversies (notices, audits, etc.)
5% Research various Income Tax matters to arrive at the most advantageous but proper treatment under law.
Job Requirements
* Bachelors degree, Accounting required.
* CPA and/or Masters of Taxation/Accounting preferred
* Public Accounting experience preferred.
* Intermediate/Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
* State tax experience a plus.
* 3-5 years Income Tax experience.

* Proven ability to work with and educate/train junior tax department personnel and business personnel.
* Strong oral and written communication skills required.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
The work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, meeting and training rooms, retail stores, and residences or commercial vehicles, e.g., use of safe work practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls, observance of fire regulations and traffic signals, etc. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated.
The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items such as papers, files, books, small parts; using a keyboard, driving an automobile, etc. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
