Canyon Adult Family Home is a small business in SW Portland, OR 97225. We offer long term care to the elderly population in our beautiful and comfortable home. We are committed to providing excellent care services into a home like atmosphere where the residents feel part of our family, are safe and respected and loved. This job will be rewarding to caregivers who enjoy a clean, serene and family oriented work environment and strive to make a positive impact into the life of elderly.

Salary compensation with the benefit of free room and board - one bedroom and bathroom into a beautiful upscale home.

Swing shifts available from 2pm to 9 pm Mon to Friday in conjunction with weekend full shifts (7am- 8pm) and some night monitoring as residents do not need hands on care at night.

As a second priority possible some morning shifts needed (7am-2pm)

Responsibilities

• Medication Administration and documentation
• Assist residents with all range of activities of daily living including : Mobility, Eating, Dressing, Bathing, Cognition management Toileting
• Help residents with physical therapy exercises
• Plan and prepare meals
• Perform light housekeeping duties
• Be a pleasant and supportive companion and promote positive interaction.
• Report any unusual incidents
• Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency

Skills

• Some experience as a caregiver is preferred but would train the right person
• Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking with attention to dietary recommendations
• Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards
• Respectful, positive and compassionate
• Good time management skills
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong ethics
• Physical fitness
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Having a clean criminal background
• Willing to complete training and fulfill education requirements per DHS rules pertaining to Adult Foster Homes in Oregon including: First aid and CPR, Mandatory Dementia Training

Hourly pay : $17-$18 per hour

COVID-19 considerations:

Caregivers and visitors are required to wear a mask and we do temperature screening for caregivers and visitors.
