Major Function
The Analytics team seeks an intern for Artificial Intelligence research and implementation. In this role, the intern will contribute to research and development of solutions that leverageArtificial Intelligence in awareness initiatives, fundraising and marketing efforts for environmental conservation.
Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive research on emerging AI technologies and trends. Stay updated on the latest advancements in AI to explore new ways AI can be used to advance WWF’s mission.Assist in development of AI-driven projects such creation and improvement of chatbots, creative content generation, and advanced analytical tasks.Work closely with other teams such as marketing to ensure the seamless integration of AI technologies into various aspects of the organization's operations.Design and develop innovative AI prototypes and applications using Python and other relevant programming tools.Analyze data from AI implementations, draw insights, and present findings in an understandable format to both technical and non-technical team members.Maintain thorough documentation of all projects, including coding, testing processes, and learnings for future reference.Performs other duties as assigned.Qualifications
Ability to commit a minimum of 20 hours per week for a duration of 3 months.Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, business analytics, statistics or other related fields. Master’s Degree or current enrollment in master’s program is preferred.Minimum of 1 year of experience performing data analysis. Interest in text mining and Natural Language Processing (NLP) is preferred.Strong proficiency in Python. Familiarity with other programming languages (e.g., R, SQL) and HTML is beneficial. Hands-on experience with AI and machine learning frameworks and tools. Familiarity with fine-tuning models and RAG framework is a plus.Understanding of and experience with APIs for software integration.Familiarity with building web applications using Flask.Demonstrated ability in analytical thinking and problem-solving. Experience with data visualization tools like PowerBI or SAS Visual Analytics is preferred.Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of presenting findings and collaborating effectively with diverse teams and all levels of staff.Strong attention to detail.Flexibility to adapt to new tools, technologies and evolving project needs.Experience with SAS (Enterprise Guide/Enterprise Miner/Viya) software is a plus.Identifies and aligns with WWF’s core values:COURAGE – We demonstrate courage through our actions, we work for change where it’s needed, and we inspire people and institutions to tackle the greatest threats to nature and the future of the planet, which is our home.INTEGRITY – We live the principles we call on others to meet.
