Job Summary:

The Import Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the importation process from start to finish, ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of goods to our warehouses or distribution centers. This role requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, freight forwarders, and customs agents.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and manage all aspects of the import logistics process, including but not limited to:
  • Communicating with overseas suppliers to obtain necessary shipping documents and information.
  • Arranging transportation and scheduling shipments from international suppliers to our facilities.
  • Ensuring compliance with import regulations and customs requirements.
  • Tracking shipments and monitoring delivery schedules to ensure on-time arrivals.
  • Resolving any issues or delays that may arise during transit or customs clearance.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including procurement, warehouse, and inventory teams, to ensure smooth coordination and timely receipt of imported goods.
• Maintain accurate records of import transactions, shipping documents, and customs clearance paperwork in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Work closely with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and other third-party logistics providers to negotiate rates, resolve shipment discrepancies, and optimize logistics operations.
• Stay informed about changes in import/export regulations, tariffs, and trade agreements to ensure compliance and minimize risk.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost-saving initiatives within the import logistics function.
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Proven experience working in import logistics, preferably in a fast-paced manufacturing or distribution environment.
• Strong knowledge of import/export regulations, customs procedures, and international shipping documentation.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize workload in a deadline-driven environment.
