Basic Functions: Greet guests as they enter the theater lobby and ushers them safely and courteously into the IMAX Theater; creates a positive impression of the Maryland Science Center for our visitors through excellent customer service.
Duties & Responsibilities
Ushers visitors into the IMAX Theater:
Assists with groups; greets all groups and visitors who come to the IMAX Theater before presentation begins; opens and closes theater; prepares the theater, queue area and glass cleaning machine for daily schedule that includes picking up discarded paper and other materials; vacuuming, polishing hand rails and stanchions, removing gum spots, readying the glass cleaning machine and setting stanchions for projected visitor attendance; informs supervisor on duty of any safety or maintenance issues or concerns that need corrective action. Take tickets from non-school group guests and verify that each guest has the correct ticket for the show.
Ensures excellent customer service:
Ensures customer satisfaction by answering general questions and resolving complaints courteously; provides general information about the museum, including current exhibits and programs, with particular attention to state-of-the-art questions regarding the IMAX film process; utilizes time in between shows by assisting visitors or other staff members with various tasks; performs other duties as assigned, to include ticket taking in the Harbor Lobby and Traveling Exhibit Hall.
Education:
HS Diploma required or equivalent
Experience:
Demonstrated ability to work well with customers and co-workers.
