Imaging Receptionist/Clerk

Summary Through courteous and professional communication, coordinates the workflow activities of the Imaging modalities, the radiologist and other hospital departments and visitors. Incumbent performs general receptionist and clerical duties in order to facilitate efficient functioning of the Imaging Service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• As the Imaging Service receptionist, incumbent is responsible to professionally, efficiently, and with exceptional customer service skill, facilitate patient workflow from the reception area through the different imaging modalities/sections within the department.
• Responsible to ensure that all imaging studies are appropriately requested through the Meditech hospital and Radiology information systems.
• Ensures all exams are properly charged in a timely manner, and all radiological interpretations (reports) are expeditiously made available to requesting physicians.
• Is thoroughly familiar with and navigates the Meditech HIS/RIS in performing daily duties.
• Operates office machines such as copier/fax machine.
• Routes incoming mail and prepares outgoing mail.
• Greets and assists visitors.

Education and/or Experience

High school graduate or equivalent, some college preferred

Experience in a Radiology hospital department preferred.

Ability to communicate effectively and document information accurately

Demonstrated customer service skills required

Ability to deal efficiently and effectively with a wide variety of individuals

Knowledge of basic medical terminology preferred

Basic computer knowledge required

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software preferred
