Job description

As a Hydroelectric Plant Technician I, the incumbent performs routine and basic tasks on control, communication, electrical and mechanical equipment in connection with the operation and maintenance of State Water Project generating/pumping plants, switchyards, water conveyance, and facilities.

Special Requirements

This is a sensitive position and is subject to substance abuse testing set forth in California Department of Human Resources (CalHR) Regulations 599.960-599.966.

Under the provisions of the North American Electric Reliability Corporation Critical Infrastructure Protection Standard CIP-004 as part of the Energy Policy of 2005, this position has authorized cyber access to, and/or unescorted physical access around critical cyber assets and is subject to a satisfactory background check prior to appointment and every seven years thereafter.

Must possess a valid California Driver's License.

The ideal candidate will possess HYDROELECTRIC PLANT field experience performing troubleshooting, installation, maintenance, calibration, and commissioning of related equipment. Strong organizational skills and computer literacy are highly desirable.
