- Functions as the initial point of contact for the HR team by answering general incoming phone calls and directing employees to appropriate team member for requests and questions
- Provides administrative support for Human Resources area
- Administers corporate clothing, wellness (gym), safety shoe and safety glass programs
- Completes employment verifications
- Prepares purchase requisitions as needed
- Maintains bulletin boards and updates employee breakroom monitors
- Maintains employee files, records and HRIS system
- Assists with processing all employee call-ins
- Reviews and enters all incoming PTO requests
- Manages Training Manager database by entering new training information and providing training reports as requested
- Complete daily safety walkthroughs on production floor and interacts with employees on the production floor to maintain positive employee relations
- Communicates and coordinates time and attendance information with leaders
- Provides necessary reports, employee time and attendance data as required
- Assists with temporary employee placement and communications with temporary agencies and Systex management
- Conducts new temporary employee orientations weekly
- Assists temporary associates with inquires
- Maintains temporary associate databases to track temporary placements and ensure proper setup in all systems prior to start date
- Assists with onboarding of new hires and follows procedures to ensure proper entry in all systems
- Assists with safety patrol and safety committee meetings
- Safety training, administration, and tracking
- Assist with maintaining compliance of SHE regulations (MIOSHA, OSHA, Waste Manifest)
- Assist with creating and administrating safety and HR communications
- Conducts annual PPE assessments
- Complete and track various safety audits on production plant floor and company grounds
- Track and follow up on open safety corrective actions
- Performs other duties as assigned
Skills Preferred:
- 0-2 years HR experience. Some safety knowledge preferred but not required
- Knowledge of Human Resources laws and regulations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment
- Employee relations
- Highly organized with exceptional problem solving skills
- Ability to uphold strict confidentiality
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in MS Office, Outlook, PowerPoint
Physical Requirements:
- Standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, talking,
- Hearing and repetitive motions.
- Must be able to twist, bend, reach as needed
- Finger dexterity enough to use a keyboard
- Occasional lifting of items up to 25 pounds
