Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Ensures that the organization has appropriate employee programs implemented regarding recruitment, retention, compensation, and benefits and ensures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements, conducting investigations, maintaining records, and representing the organization at hearings.
2. Maintains employee personnel files, ensuring compliance with appropriate laws.
3. Maintains and periodically updates employee handbook and other organizational policies.
4. Educates and coaches all employees and leaders around human resource policies, hears and resolves employee grievances, and counsels employees and managers regarding employee performance issues appropriately.
5. Maintains and updates the organization’s job descriptions.
6. Advertises, recruits, and interviews quality employees for all roles of the organization and works closely with managers to clearly define roles and expectations of each role; conducts and analyzes exit interviews.
7. Establishes review processes in conjunction with an employee compensation program and sets standards for employee reviews and educates leaders to ensure consistent application and coaches leaders in addressing deficiencies and annual employee goals in the review process.
8. Maintains employee benefits programs and informs employees of benefits by studying and assessing benefit needs and trends; researches and recommends new programs, changes, and additions to management/executive team.
9. Responsible for coordination and completion of new employee orientation.
10. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
11. Works closely with management and owners to promote a positive working environment that fairly recognizes employees.
12. Assesses culture and leadership to coach leaders to improve team effectiveness and accountability.
13. Communicates directly with payroll to ensure accuracy and integrity around employee compensation.
14. Develops and operates under an approved budget for employee benefit and recruitment programs.

Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of word processing software, spreadsheet software, and human resource systems. Paylocity software is a plus.
Education/Experience:
Associate's degree (A. A. / A. S.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
