CESA 5 seeks a qualified individual to assist schools in addressing their cybersecurity needs.
Responsibilities:
- Provide cybersecurity assessments for school districts, including conducting vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and remediate security weaknesses
- Provide professional development regarding cybersecurity and other technology topics
- Responsible for playing a vital part in safeguarding critical data and infrastructure from cyber threats
- Responsible for monitoring network activity, analyzing security incidents, implementing security controls, and collaborating with other team members to maintain a robust security posture
- Monitor network activity for suspicious behavior and potential threats
- Implement and maintain security controls, such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and endpoint security solutions
- Address support requests related to Cybersecurity
- Update plan of action and milestones (POA&Ms)
- Manage and maintain 3rd party cybersecurity software and systems
- Assist with maintaining Disaster Recovery and Incident Recovery plans
- Lead or assist with security and privacy reviews for software and digital tools
- Lead or assist with developing or managing Table Top Exercises (TTX)
- Investigate and analyze security incidents, including malware infections, unauthorized access attempts, and data breaches
- Document security activities and findings
- Collaborate with members of all technology teams and other school district staff
- Provide security awareness training to employees
- Stay informed about the latest cyber threats and trends
- Remain current by learning new technologies and keeping track of industry developments
- Support other IT project work as requested
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Cybersecurity, or a related field, OR Computer Science degree with equivalent experience
- One (1) year of experience in Information Technology Security Operations, including configuring, monitoring, and responding to alerts from various platforms
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity concepts and principles
- Experience with security tools and technologies, such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, vulnerability scanners, and SIEM systems
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Maintain a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel throughout the CESA 5 region and statewide as needed
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
