Annual Compensation Range ($USD): 68,250.00 - 91,000.00 paid on a bi-weekly basis.
A Brief Overview
The Human Resources Specialist is responsible for full life-cycle recruiting: recruiting, screening and recommending placement of candidates for positions at the Wayne County Airport Authority. The Human Resource Specialist may also assist in the administration of other Human Resources programs and functions and address and/or resolve employee relations issues.
What you will do
- Responsible for managing all aspects of open requisitions from start of recruitment process to onboarding and offboarding of candidates and resolving all issues during the recruitment process.
- Consult with Authority hiring managers to understand the requirements, duties, and qualifications desired for the specified vacant position(s).
- Resolves issues related to the selection and recruitment process.
- Collects and analyzes data to maintain current understanding of fair and competitive market trends, candidate availability, and demand for candidates in particular fields.
- Makes recommendations to enhance and improve the selection process.
- Checks candidates references and credentials, verifying experience and backgrounds and resolves issues/makes recommendations regarding documentation received.
- Maintains and ensures compliance with applicable equal employment opportunity (EEO) and related employment laws and regulations.
- Assists in ensuring the selection process is in compliance with collective bargaining agreements.
- Performs other similar and related duties as required or directed.
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or a related field; An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
- 4 or more years of experience in a similar role with emphasis on recruiting/ talent acquisition, and onboarding of new hires. Recruiting experience in a Union environment preferred.
- Experience with Human resources systems/software (ERP/HRIS) such as Oracle Fusion HCM preferred.
- Proficient with Office Suite Software (Core - Email, Word Processing, Spreadsheets, Presentation
- Society of Human Resources Management, Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-CP or SCP) preferred.
