Lititz – Human Resources Manager

The Human Resources Manager would be based at Luther Acres, a Luthercare senior living community in Lititz, PA; however, the position will likely require some travel to our other campuses. This exempt-level position serves under the direction of the Vice President of Human Resources.

WHAT YOU DO:
As the Human Resources Manager at Luthercare, your responsibilities in directing the Human Resources Department include policy/procedure interpretation and application, retention, and onboarding organization-wide, and systems maintenance, including HRIS, e-learning, and communication tools. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Foster positive employee relations and serve as a primary point of contact for all employees’ inquiries and concerns. Serve as a consultant to managers/supervisors regarding Luthercare’s policies, procedures, safety concerns, harassment, etc. Collaborate with departments and managers regarding retention efforts. Direct adaptation and communicate all changes of HR policies and procedures.
- Work with VP of Human Resources to develop and oversee performance management process, including goal setting, feedback, and performance reviews to enhance employee skills and career growth.
- Identify training needs and coordinate professional development opportunities for employees.
- Manage employee benefits programs, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and work to enhance team member satisfaction with benefits offerings.
- Oversee and coordinate the onboarding process for new employees with the HR team. Develop and conduct orientation programs to ensure a smooth transition for new managers and oversee general orientation for all new employees.
- Manage the HR Information System (HRIS), including time and attendance, scheduling, leave and performance, communication tools, and staffing agencies process. Ensure accurate and up-to-date employee records.
- Oversee unemployment compensation claims and workers’ compensation claims.
- Supervise and lead the HR department, ensuring efficient and effective operations while fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.
- Foster an environment of learning while providing opportunities for staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
As part of Luthercare’s multi-site regional network, you are supported by a corporate recruitment team to aid in staffing challenges.

Luthercare is a not-for-profit, faith-based, mission-driven organization in southcentral Pennsylvania that provides a network of care and services to older adults and children through our senior living communities and our Luthercare for Kids childcare and early learning centers. In Lancaster and Lebanon Counties, Luthercare operates three senior living communities – Luther Acres, Spang Crest, and St. John’s Herr Estate – and two Luthercare for Kids Early Learning Centers.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Current PHR or SHRM-CP required.
- Proven experience as HR manager in a similar-sized organization or a minimum of five (5) years’ experience as HR Generalist in smilar-sized organization.
- Knowledge in applicable employment laws and regulations.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills and strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
PREFERRED JOB-RELATED EXPERIENCE/ABILITIES/EDUCATION:
One (1) year of experience in a long-term care or healthcare facility.
One (1) year of demonstrating analytical ability.
