Job Description
The manager of Human Resources will work with leadership and all employees as a strategic business partner to help facilitate human resource functions across the company of 230 employees in 17 states and provide support to all departments. This position is responsible for determining and formulating policies and providing overall vision and direction to HR programs and activities. This role will be an active business leader, driving a variety of HR functions day to day and strategically including employee relations, employment law, performance management, onboarding, retention, employee engagement, compensation, and benefits and more.
Responsibilities
- Advise and consult at a senior level to executives and all levels of employees on HR related topics.
- Facilitate and communicate with management teams regarding all HR matters.
- Serve as a corporate communicator to all employees for HR related information and announcements.
- Establish the overall Human Resource department direction for short- and long-term goals.
- Manage direct reports, including performance reviews and disciplinary actions.
- Implement HR best practices.
- Responsible for handling internal and external company issues related to workforce.
- Provide cutting edge people operations methods.
- Partner with department managers with and participate in coaching, discipline, and termination of employees.
- Manage and evaluate the Performance Review process.
- Oversee and participate in the Classification of Employees, ADA, EEOC, and FMLA requirements.
- Mitigate risks through employment law compliance, and information security measures.
- Provide necessary employee and/or management training as required by law.
- Oversee benefits information and manage a competitive compensation plan.
- Oversee and participate in various cultural committees.
- Develop and evaluate programs, policies and procedures, keep employee handbook up to date and other daily concerns related to HR, including health/wellness, DEI, Safety and more.
- Deliver a high level of customer service to internal and external customers.
- Conduct new hire orientations, successful onboarding and new hire check ins.
- Ensure that job descriptions are current and maintained accordingly.
- Network with outside organizations and professionals who can provide HR related assistance (SHRM).
- Provide support and guidance to the interview, hiring and onboarding process.
- Budget for HR expenses and monitor regularly not to exceed budget.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5-10 years’ experience in HR, Benefits, or related role.
- 2+ years managing direct reports
- Bachelor’s Degree
- HR Certification; master’s degree.
