A leading fashion company based in New York City, is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our team as an HR Manager. As an integral part of our organization, you will play a key role in ensuring legal compliance, fostering employee relations, managing performance, and serving as an advisor to the NY onsite teams and leaders.
Responsibilities:
Legal Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to NYC/NYS laws and regulations.
- Regularly review and update company policies and procedures to maintain compliance
Employee Relations:
- Foster positive employee relations through effective communication and conflict resolution.
- Act as a mediator when necessary and work towards maintaining a positive workplace culture.
Performance Management:
- Implement and oversee performance management processes.
- Provide guidance to managers on performance-related matters and improvement strategies.
Advisor Role:
- Serve as a trusted advisor to onsite teams and leaders on HR-related issues.
- Provide guidance on employee development, engagement, and retention strategies.
Onboarding:
- Ensure a smooth onboarding process for new hires.
- Set employees up for success by facilitating comprehensive orientation and training programs.
Policy and Procedure Management:
- Communicate management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures.
- Regularly review and revise HR policies to reflect industry best practices.
Collaboration:
- Collaborate with the corporate team to ensure alignment with overall company goals.
- Communicate effectively with different departments to understand and address HR needs.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong relationship-building skills.
- Strong ability to influence and connected with senior leaders.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Prior experience in retail, wholesale, fashion, and/or e-commerce industries.
- In-depth knowledge of NYC/HYS labor laws and regulations.
- Proven ability to handle employee relations and conflict resolution effectively.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required Business, Human Resources, Psychology, Marketing, Industrial Relations or similar.
- 7+ years handling generalist HR duties
