What are we looking for?
We are seeking a Human Resources Manager to join our team in Decatur, AL. The Human Resources Manager will be responsible for overseeing the HR functions across our company, to include but is not limited to benefits administration, employee relations, compliance, HR policy development and the overall flow of HR operations. We are seeking a self-motivated individual who has a drive for success in the Human Resources field of work. We look for positivity and an eagerness to learn and grow.
The Responsibilities
- Maintain employee records and process requests for changes, including but not limited to address updates, name changes, contact information, and direct deposit information.
- Create and sustain HR policies and procedures and make necessary updates to existing policies as required and to reflect industry best practices.
- Stay current with labor laws, regulations, and industry trends, while addressing legal and compliance issues related to HR matters.
- Provide guidance to management for effective resolution of employee relation matters, to include conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and grievances in adherence to company policies and legal regulations.
- Oversee the administration of the I.C.E. Contractors Group Health and 401(k) plan.
- Conduct exit interviews and facilitate the offboarding process for terminated employees.
- Perform yearly wage analyses to determine competitive wage rates across the company.
- Administer and manage workers' compensation claims.
- Ensure the necessary safety reporting is conducted and forwarded to the appropriate channels.
- Partner with Talent Acquisition Manager/Safety Coordinator with any needs that arise regarding hiring, recruiting, and safety.
The Requirements
- Bachelors' degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3+ years of Human Resources Management experience.
- In-depth knowledge of construction industry-specific labor laws, regulations, safety standards, and employee relations.
- Clean background and a valid driver's license.
- Strong communication, interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with others.
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.

- SHRM certification
- Human Resources experience in a construction or related setting.
