This is a paid internship, range of $19/hr - $35/hr (depending on role and qualifications) for those currently pursuing undergraduate degrees and higher rates for those currently pursuing graduate level degrees.

DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW
Sound Transit’s Human Resources division oversees the full employment cycles for our staff providing transportation services throughout the Puget Sound region – Link, Sounder, ST Express, and Tacoma Link. The Human Resources intern will have an opportunity to be a part of the team that oversees our recruiting, university relations, benefits, and compensation services and learn how a large regional transit system is managed.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

JOB DUTIES:
- Review processes and create process documentation and procedures
- Assist with creating job vacancies and responding to compensation surveys
- Support talent outreach efforts by representing the Agency at events
- Assisting with benefits support for employees
POTENTIAL PROJECTS:
- Assist with internship program, including upkeep of the intern directory and organizing intern presentations
- Support in Talent Pipeline maintenance and candidate experience initiatives
- Support internal recruiting training as a producer; could contribute by presenting part of the training
- Learning outreach event organization and proactive recruiting
- Job pricing comparison with national transit agencies
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants must be a current college student in good academic standing, enrolled in an accredited associate, bachelor's or graduate degree program in Business Administration, Public Administration, Psychology, Sociology, or related field, or relevant two-year certificate.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS:
- Effective written and verbal communication
- Adaptability and flexibility when moving between different tasks
- Basic familiarity and comfort level with Microsoft Office software, to include Word, Outlook, and Excel
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Work is performed in a standard office environment.
