Human Resources Intern

Facility Management Corporation leases and operates 24 public ice skating arenas across the state of Massachusetts. We exist to make our communities a better place one skater at a time! We are currently seeking a Human Resources Intern to join our HR Department for the summer. The ideal candidate will be detailed-oriented, organized and self-motivated with a positive and forward thinking attitude. This position will be approximately 30 hours per week May through August.
The Human Resources Intern will directly assist the VP of Human Resources and Community Engagement with a wide range of projects related to recruiting, onboarding/orientation, training and employee engagement. This internship is designed to be both educational and practical. In this position, the intern will learn how to take skills they may have acquired in school related to his or her particular areas of interest, and apply them in a professional setting. They will gain a better understanding of the role that Human Resources can play be better prepared to work in the arena of human resources.
The Human Resources Intern will assist in the continued development and practical application of:
- The recruiting and hiring process, to include posting job openings, reviewing resumes, conducting telephone and in-person interviews, and making job offers.
- An HR marketing plan to engage potential team members, current team members and community partners.
- The process of building and coordinating a practical training program for virtual and in person distribution. Will work directly on our Season Opener training in August.
Qualifications:
- Current or recent enrollment in a graduate or undergraduate degree program with an interest and aptitude to work in Human Resources, Marketing, Communications or Non-Profit Adminsitration;
- Ability to prioritize tasks and handle numerous assignments simultaneously;
- Passion for process improvement;
- Detail-oriented with excellent comprehension skills;
- Ability to manage some workflow and tasks independently.
