Job Description
The Human Resources Intern role is designed to provide hands-on work experience and skill building for college students interested in pursuing a career in HR. In this role, the Human Resources Intern will learn key processes, roles, and functions within our distribution/warehouse HR operations, while working alongside experienced HR professionals.
Responsibilities
- Learn, understand, support, and deliver Hillman's new hire onboarding and orientation process, with focus on hourly distribution/warehouse associates.
- Learn and understand company policies and practices.
- Support hourly distribution/warehouse associates (700 plus) with general HR requests and questions.
- Work with Human Resources Business Partners and management with the implementation of action plans following recent employee survey.
- Learn and navigate company HRIS system (Dayforce) and Badging system (Brivo).
- Provide support for recruiting functions (screening candidates, scheduling interviews, etc.).
- Assist with the planning and execution of company employee events.
- Assist with HR administrative duties as needed.
Qualifications
- Locally based in Cincinnati, OH and willing to work onsite 5 days a week.
- Minimum of 1 year of college experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong analytical & problem-solving skills.
- Ability to follow through and respond to requests with a high degree of accuracy, timeliness, and professionalism.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Self-motivated with strong propensity for action, results, and continuous improvement.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and manage multiple processes, programs, and procedures simultaneously.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
- An avid learner and critical thinker.
