Full-Time Human Resources-Talent Acquisition Internship- $18 per hour
Superior Forge and Steel is seeking a motivated and energetic Human Resources/Talent Acquisition Intern to assist with a newly created recruiting plan for its Lima, OH location. This is an excellent opportunity for a current Junior or Senior in college studying Human Resources. This is a 40 hour per week position, with Monday-Friday core work hours. This is a temporary summer internship.
As an intern, you will work alongside of an HR team and Hiring Managers to implement a recruiting plan for skilled and unskilled labor at Superior Forge by doing the following:
- Establishing contacts with local employment agencies and socializing openings with the company.
- Host company-sponsored recruiting events onsite and attend job fairs on behalf of the company.
- Posting and monitoring job ad responses with immediate follow-up and 24- hour interview guarantee.
- Keep the recruiting funnel provisioned with applicants by identifying creative methods for finding new candidates.
- Screening applicants in a first- round phone interview to efficiently identify potential hires.
- Communicate with and schedule interviews for Hiring Managers.
- Coordinate job offers with the HR Team and Hiring Managers.
- Track various recruiting metrics including time-to-fill statistics.
- Other projects as assigned
Applicants should have the following background and experience:
- Be a rising Junior or Senior in good academic standing within a 4-year, Baccalaureate Human Resources degree program.
- Basic understanding of web-based recruiting platforms.
- Strong organization skills with ability to multi-task.
- Intermediate Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent phone skills are required.
- Must excel at being self-directed and results oriented with a sense of urgency and enthusiasm
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Must be comfortable to work intermittently within a plant environment, where heavy machinery and environmental factors include above average temperatures.
