Coordinated Care Services Inc (CCSI) seeks a talented Human Resources Generalist to contribute their expertise in providing essential business services to our provider organizations and customers. The Human Resources Generalist performs a mix of consultative, transactional, and administrative roles to provide general HR support, process, and system navigation for internal employees of CCSI. This position will partner with HR subject matter experts, the Senior Human Resources Business Partners, and the Benefits and Wellness Program Manager, as well as provide general back-up support to these functions as needed. The role is designated to work on-site at CCSI's Syracuse office, serving a workforce of about 200 people.
In this role, you will

  • Engage with employees, and first-line supervisors to provide day-to-day HR support and navigation to established processes and systems.
  • Provide HR assistance and guidance for employees on all areas of HR, such as recruitment, hiring, onboarding, offboarding, employee relations, HR policy and employment regulation interpretation and administration, performance management, general benefits support, safety incident reports, and HR or Compliance incident identification and escalation.
  • Collaborate with internal hiring managers and the Senior HR Business Partner to update established position descriptions; review content to follow legal and regulatory requirements; ensure duties, qualifications, and requirements are essential for the scope of the position and ensures the hiring process creates opportunities for diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Support recruitment, hiring, and onboarding process. Support hiring supervisors in collaboration with the Sr. HR Business Partner in the use of best practices for talent selection and the use of effective interviewing and selection for both adaptive and technical competencies. Provide general support for program/department onboarding to ensure inclusion and retention.
  • Support supervisors and employees of assigned programs/departments with employee relations questions, issues, or concerns and provide consultation and resolution strategies for the most optimal outcomes. Escalate complex employee issues to the Senior HR Business Partner and/or the Director, Human Resources for additional review, consultation, and support.
  • Manage employment termination and offboarding processes for assigned programs/departments; conducts exit surveys and interviews. Support supervisors with involuntary separation meetings.
  • Support program management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Support internal promotions and transfer process.
  • Champion employee wellness initiatives, activities, education, and awareness; supports and champion diversity, inclusion, and equity efforts; and participates in multi-cultural events, celebrations, and observances. Support overall employee engagement efforts.
  • Serves as a member of the CCSI Committees to create connections for Syracuse based staff (Safety Committee, Racial Equity Justice Initiative Committee, Wellness Committee).
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent education and work experience (see CCSI's equivalency chart) required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of Human Resources Generalist or Specialist experience performing the following functions: staffing/recruitment, employee relations, and benefits administration required.
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, and/or SHRM-SCP certification(s) (desired, but not required).

Additional Requirements
  • Occasional day-trip travel to Rochester, NY, is required (once or twice per month). Occasional overnight travel may be required and will be determined by the needs of the business.
  • Satisfactory completion of all required background screenings.
  • Valid NYS Driver's License and acceptable driving record to travel for business. (CCSI does not accept conditional status driver's licenses as acceptable to drive for business.)
