The position of Human Resources Generalist with a focus on Payroll involves carrying out a wide variety of tasks related to personnel administration and payroll management. This person will be responsible for ensuring compliance with labor laws, accuracy and timeliness of the payroll process, and providing support and advice to employees on salary and benefits matters.
Typical responsibilities of a Human Resources Generalist with Payroll duties include:
Administration and execution of the company's entire payroll process, ensuring it is done accurately and timely.
Reviewing and calculating hours worked, bonuses, deductions, taxes, and other payroll-related concepts.
Maintaining and updating employee records in the payroll system, ensuring accuracy of personal and financial information.
Collaborating with the accounting team to ensure proper accounting for wages and benefits.
Preparing and submitting payroll-related reports, such as tax reports and compensation reports.
Ensuring compliance with labor and tax laws related to payroll and benefits.
Providing advice and support to employees on payroll issues, such as deductions, benefits, payment policies, among others.
Coordinating the onboarding and offboarding of employees in terms of payroll and benefits.
Maintaining and updating policies and procedures related to payroll and wage payment.
Participating in the implementation of payroll systems and other Human Resources management tools.
Additionally, as a Human Resources Generalist, this person may also be responsible for other areas of Human Resources, such as recruitment and selection, personnel administration, training and development, labor relations, among others.
The focus on Payroll implies that this area is their strong suit and main responsibility within the Human Resources function.
