JOB SUMMARY
As part of the team, maintains diverse Human Resources functions including recruitment, employee onboarding/offboarding, performance management, and policy implementation. Serves as a link between management and employees to ensure smooth operation of HR processes within the organization and implements HR initiatives to foster a positive team culture and work environment. Initial six months of role will focus on recruitment for a new facility and will shift to HR Business Partner role following.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leads and promotes healthy and safe work practices as required by regulatory agencies and Company policy.
- Identifies staff vacancies and collaborates with managers/talent acquisition team for candidate selection.
- Coordinates requisition process from approved requisition status
- Initiates background check, onboarding, and candidate engagement process.
- Partners with other departments to support recruiting efforts. Participates in community outreach events, job fairs and networking activities to enhance candidates’ diversity and military recruiting.
- Evaluates resumes (file), cover letters, and job applications.
- Conducts phone interviews, coordinates interviews for hiring managers, and supports hiring managers with scheduling.
- Assists with employee conflict resolution, disciplinary procedures, and understaffing issues. Organizes culture-enhancing events to promotes company culture.
- Coordinates labor relations and contract administration, including partnership with union bargaining committees.
- Conducts new employee orientation and implements offboarding process to foster a positive attitude toward organizational objectives. Researches and monitors state and federally mandated policies on leaves of absences/accommodation policies and programs (FMLA, USERRA, ADA).
- Performs other duties as they might be assigned.
- Regular, full-time predictable onsite attendance is an essential function of this role (check with HR/Comp when to include).
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field, Human Resources preferred
- 2-5 year experience in Human Resources role required with manufacturing experience preferred
- Experience recruiting non-exempt employees in a manufacturing industry preferred
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / COMPETENCIES
- Basic knowledge Human Resources Information Systems and Applicant Tracking Systems; ADP Workforce and iCIMS preferred
- Working knowledge of Human Resources laws, including Affirmative Action/EEOC requirements, DOL laws, including recruitment and selection
- Strong organizational and planning skills with ability to focus time on the most important and urgent issues
- Strong verbal and written communication and listening skills to interact with internal team members and external customers
- Goal oriented self-starter with an entrepreneurial personality able make strategic decisions with a sense of velocity and urgency
- High ethical standards to be able to process confidential employee information
