Our People and Engagement Generalist will be based out of our Decatur production facility and will report to the People & Engagement Manager. This individual will execute the daily functions of the People and Engagement department at Decatur.

What You’ll Accomplish

  • Participate in the implementation and administration of policies and programs including performance review process, attendance management, etc.
  • Develop and hone your recruitment skillset by supporting the non-exempt recruitment process including applicant tracking, candidate screening, liaising with hiring manager, and coordinating interviews
  • Ensure the facility has appropriate levels of temporary staffing on an ongoing basis
  • Lead and execute the new employee orientation and onboarding experience
  • Support a positive employee experience through effective administration of benefits, open enrollment support, orientation activities, and acting as their primary point of contact for general questions
  • Manage regular employee communications (via bulletin boards, monitors, text alerts, and internal social media accounts)
  • Participate in and lead employee activities planning, engagement activities, and recognition events and programs
  • Manage office supplies and administrative purchasing
  • Process employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff
  • Review, track, and document training, learning and development activities, and work assessments
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law
  • Act as a Safety Ambassador by completing all safety training programs, consistently reporting all safety issues, and maintaining documentation and reporting. Exemplifies our quality and food safety standards and culture by participating in all program training, adheres to all policies and procedures, reports any failures, leads by example to comply with all resolution actions.

In addition, for this specific role, we need someone who:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • A minimum of three years of work experience in a human resources or administrative position
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills - able to work with all levels of employees from new hires to senior leaders
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow and document instructions and procedures
  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality on all human resource matters
  • Demonstrated success organizing and prioritizing work effectively in response to changing priorities
