Human Resources Generalist– Defense Search

Immediate opening for a Human Resources Generalist in Whippany, NY who possesses:
- Degree and 5+ years of progressive HR Experience
- Diverse background that includes talent acquisition, payroll, benefits, new hire orientation and other HR functions
- Experience with payroll systems and HRIS programs is a huge plus(ADP Vantage or ADP Work Force Now is ideal)

FULL DESCRIPTION:
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
- Be the primary backup for payroll processing
- Labor agreement administration
- Assists in talent acquisition and recruitment process
- Promote HR programs to create an efficient and conflict-free workplace
- Conduct employee onboarding
- Prepares new hire orientation packages
- Keeps onboarding documents up to date
- Use of IFS System to maintain employee change data
- Maintains confidential personnel files and training records
- Maintains posted lists of active employees for Emergency Evacuation
- Provide support to employees in various HR-related topics such as leaves and compensation and resolve any issues that may arise
- Assist in the communication, interpretation, and upkeep of employee handbook, employee directory, and organizational chart and contributes to the development of policies
- Verifies employment status through E-Verify
- Assists in training schedules
- Ensure compliance with labor regulations
- Update and maintain I9 binder for active and inactive personnel
- Coffee and coffee supply inventory, purchasing and administration & cost reduction activities
- Handle multiple priorities
- Other duties as assigned
The following candidate will possess:
- Desire to work as a team with a results driven approach
- Knowledge of and previous work experience with Affirmative Action a must
- Good knowledge of employment/labor laws and general Human Resources policies and procedures a must
- Must be extremely organized.
- Must have the ability to handle and maintain confidential information.
- Must be flexible and able to handle multiple projects.
- Must possess effective oral and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Able to work with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and experience. Able to navigate the worldwide web.
- Knowledge of ADP Work Force Now and/or ADP Vantage a plus or processing of payroll in other systems - prior experience Processing Payroll a plus
- Must be capable of performing at a high level with minimum supervision
- Minimum 5 years experience in Human Resources
Salary Range: $65k-$75k/yr
