Job Summary:

The Human Resource Business Partner will lead and direct the routine functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices. Additionally, this position assists managers and employees with employee relations issues, team member development, benefits enrollment, and questions, and maintains employee database and files.


Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Manages the daily workflow of the HR department.
  • Manages and develops on-site HR staff (HR Generalist, Talent Acquisition Specialist)
  • Oversees day-to-day HR support and guidance for company.
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization's human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
  • Serves as liaison between HR Director and on-site Senior Leadership Team ensuring open communication and transparency.
  • First level escalation for on-site HR staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating employee relations issues, and terminations. Provides support and guidance to managers and team members as needed.
  • Manages the talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants, particularly for managerial, exempt, and professional roles; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Provides excellent customer service support to internal and external customers. Develops communication tools to enhance understanding of the company's policies and practices.
  • Partners with managers during employee relations investigations and disciplinary meetings.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Creates learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in Human Resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Administers various employee benefits programs, such as group health, flexible spending accounts, dental and vision, accident and disability, life insurance, 401(k), and wellness benefits.
  • Conducts benefits orientations and leads annual benefits open enrollment.
  • Maintains employee benefits filing systems and ensures benefits changes are entered appropriately in payroll system for payroll deduction.
  • Review and respond to unemployment claims with appropriate documentation. Review monthly unemployment statements.
  • Coordinate workers' compensation claims with third-party administrator. Follow up on claims.
  • Ensures a smooth process and excellent employee experience for acquired employees during onboarding and transition post-acquisition.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS (Workday) and talent management systems.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or 6-7 years related experience required.
  • Two years of experience in employee benefits administration required.
  • A minimum of two years of human resource management experience preferred.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly desired.

Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Travel to branch locations is required on an as needed basis (10-15%).
