Summary of Responsibilities
Provides day-to-day Human Resources support and counsel to a business unit and/or functional group covering many or most of the following areas: recruiting, compensation, benefits, training, employee and labor relations, employee communications, safety and employment documentation. Ensures consistent application of policies and procedures. Serves as a liaison with internal departments/divisions and/or outside organizations.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities
- Administer core Human Resources programs including staffing, associate relations, compensation, benefits, performance management, and learning.
- Develop and recommend solutions to a variety of Human Resources issues
- Consult with management on the interpretation and administration of Human Resources policies, programs, and procedures.
- Works with managers and associates to investigate and resolve associate relations issues.
- Conducts staffing support including sourcing, interviewing candidates, and conducting reference checks.
- Partners with leadership to align HR strategy to business strategy.
- Acts a change agent to business through process design and approaches that support change and transformation – striving to lead mutual processes to best practice status.
- Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with HR peers to develop solutions: programs and practices.
- Leads and/or supports annual HR cycle deliverables to include performance management: merit and bonus awards; benefits enrollment; etc.
- Evaluates issues, patterns, and trends to provide proactive insights for HR solution and program designs i.e training to address certain needs.
- Partners with Vice President of Human Resources and appropriate FloWorks leaders to grow the capacity of the organization’s key talent to include high potential identification and associated development programming etc.
- All other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding of EAP and drug testing policies.
- Proficiency in Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, MS Outlook.
- Proven strong foundation and knowledge of principles & practice of HR including employment law & compliance requirements.
- Multi-state employment law highly desired.
Training/Experience
- Typically requires BS/BA in related discipline.
- Generally 2-5 years of experience in related field; certification is required in some areas
- Combination of education & experience may be substituted.
Problem Complexity
- Demonstrates skill in data analysis techniques by resolving missing/incomplete information, inconsistencies/anomalies in more complex research/data.
Autonomy
- Nature of work requires increasing independence; receives guidance only on unusual complex problems or issues. Work review typically involves periodic review of output by supervisor and/or direct "customers" of the process.
Leadership
- May provide general guidance/direction to or train junior level support personnel or professional personnel.
Enviromental Job Requirements
- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rareoccasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
