General Purpose: The HR Business Partner (HRBP) establishes strong partnerships, serving as a trusted advisor across the organization delivering value-added service that aligns with the organization's values, people initiatives and business objectives. This position provides tactical and strategic consulting in areas such as employee retention and engagement, performance management, policy interpretation, employee relations, leave management, leadership coaching and development, workforce planning, compensation, and regulatory readiness. May carry out additional responsibilities to include employee development initiatives and training.
Essential Duties/Position Responsibilities:
Strategic Operations
  • Develop and sustain strong partnerships with department leadership and employees in support of a strategic Business Partner model.
  • Maintain an effective level of business literacy about assigned business groups' operations, strategic goals, people initiatives and culture. Participate in strategic discussions, collaborating on the development and execution of strategic priorities, goals, objectives, and systems, aligning HR strategy to business objectives.
  • Work with business groups to assess, create and implement innovative solutions for a variety of employee retention and engagement initiatives, and driving performance of KPI's.
  • Partner with other functional areas such as occupational health, payroll and finance as needed to provide solutions for clients.

Functional HR
  • Provide day-to-day coaching to leadership on a variety of HR-related topics.
  • Maintain effective communication and good working relationships with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Manage Worker comp collaborate with employee health and workers compensation insurance managing employee health.
  • Manage ADAAA for assigned business units.
  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues in a timely fashion. Advise leaders on best employee relations practices and strategies for managing performance and behavioral issues. Conduct objective employee relations investigations, analyze information, develop fact-based conclusions, consult on final determinations, and accurately summarize in written reports as applicable. Collaborate in the development of responses to charges and other legal matters. Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Manage the unemployment process for assigned client groups, ensuring a thorough and defensible process preventing the loss of unemployment claims. Manage company website, account is paid.
  • Manage complex situations escalated by HR team members in areas such as leave management, talent acquisition.
  • Provide guidance and input on workforce planning, succession planning, business unit restructures. Perform job analysis and write effective job descriptions.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to identify training needs, develop, and deliver innovative and effective training that will strengthen and enhance performance across the organization. Ensure collaboration on training to ensure consistency in coaching and messaging across the organization.
  • Keep up to date on current employment law and regulatory requirements. Incorporate this knowledge into job performance in a manner that proactively supports operations and minimizes risk. Establish and maintain knowledge of all HR-related regulatory requirements and collaborate with business units on regulatory readiness.
  • Provide backup support for talent acquisition.
  • Maintain and provide guidance on Policy and Procedures.
  • Provide support to Total Rewards Specialist on benefits.
  • Maintains Employee Handbook

HR Operations
  • Actively participate in HR department operational and strategic planning meetings in a manner that fosters collaboration and consistency throughout the department. Proactively identify areas of opportunity to increase service and efficiency from HR, proposing solutions, collaborating with team members on execution.
  • Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with HR peers and recommend new approaches, policies and procedures.
  • Build tools and resources necessary to support effective people leadership. Ensure HR team collaboration and consistency in practice where appropriate.
  • Maintain effective communication and good working relationships with employees at all levels of the organization. Projects excellent customer relations in all interactions.

Qualifications

  • Strong business acumen necessary to provide effective consultation in alignment with work unit operations, business objectives and strategic priorities.
  • Public speaking and basic facilitator skills in order to speak effectively and persuasively on Human Resources matters.
  • Knowledgeable in employment law and regulatory requirements, ability to analyze and mitigate legal risk related to the employment relationship.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information ethically and responsibly.
  • Ability to protect confidentiality of patient, employee and business information.
  • Close alignment to STRIDE's mission, vision and core values.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in Management, Business Administration, Human Resources, or closely related field required. Will consider experience in lieu of education that provides the same or similar level of knowledge and experience necessary to successfully perform the role of Sr. Human Resources Business Partner.
  • HR Certification preferred.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in a responsible Human Resources capacity with intermediate to strong level of knowledge of strategic consulting, employee relations and workforce planning.
  • Prior experience of building trusted relationships, influencing stakeholders and driving operational performance.

  • Video and telephone conferencing equipment.
  • Other office equipment as needed.

Working environment/physical activities:
  • Office environment within a clinical setting. Moves about the office environment and to other locations. Moves objects up to 25lbs and 50lbs occasionally. Communicates information to others. Discerns/analyzes information from others to assist in decision making. Enters data into computer programs via computer, mouse, and keyboard.
