Role:Human Resources Benefits Specialist
Reports to: VP of Human Resources
Position Summary
As the Human Resources Benefits Specialist, you will playan integral part of a company's HR department. They are responsible for managing and administering a company's employee benefit programs from retirement plans and health insurance to life insurance and beyond. This position involves professional-level Human Resources work across various functional areas, including benefits, training, and other HR Generalist duties as assigned.
Main Responsibilities:
Benefits administration point person
Work with broker and vendors
Lead open enrollment coordination and training for employee benefits programs.
Monitor New Hire Benefit enrollments
401K withdrawal approvals
Reconcile 401K contributions
Review and reconcile monthly benefit invoices and send to accounting for payment
Manual vendor updates and reconciliations for Puerto Rico location
Leaves:
Work with Absence Plus for FMLA leaves
Assist with administrative tasks for STD and LTD
Liaison for worker’s compensation claims
Other Responsibilities:
Database Management:
Maintaining electronic files for employees, including their documents, benefits, and other records
Processing job changes, rate changes, promotions
Completion of termination process
Working with managers submitting updates in ADP Workforce Now
Entering UI claims information into ADP UCM
Policy Development and Compliance:
Creating, updating, and applying all HR policies and company guidelines, ensuring adherence to standards and laws initiated by authorities.
Comparing HR laws to current policies and procedures.
Distribution of Compliance posters
Compliance reporting such as EEOC and OSHA
Employee Relations:
Collaborate with managers to take appropriate action when employees violate rules and regulations.
Addressing employee grievances.
Assisting with employee investigations
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in HR Management or related field
Strong understanding of HR policies, laws, and regulations.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in record-keeping and documentation.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
Experience with ADP Workforce Now or similar HRIS
