Culinary Supervisor

The successful candidate:
Hours: Mon - Fri 11:30am - 7pm with rotational weekends*
*Flexibility with hours is needed due to business needs
Must have a IL food handlers certificate and servsafe manager certificate.
The Supervisor of Culinary Services, in collaboration with department leadership, supports the planning and management for the successful operations of the Culinary Services department including all patient, Cafe and dining room services and ensures compliance with local, state, and federal laws and accrediting agency regulations and also oversees cleaning and sanitation of the department.
The Supervisor oversees the daily work of the Culinary Services Stakeholders reporting to them, ensuring adherence to established processes that contribute to must possess a strong understanding and knowledge of how to sustain department profitability while simultaneously providing the highest quality food to the Patients, Caregivers, Stakeholders, and all other guests.
Minimum Job Qualifications
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent; Associates degree in related field preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years' experience in Food and Beverage/Hospitality/High-volume hospital cafeteria setting
- 2 years Supervisory experience in a related setting including responsibility over cash handlers and training staff preferred
License/ Certification/ Permit:
- Currently dated Food Handler's Permit from County/State Health Department in which you reside required. Manager ServeSafe preferred
- Certification from an American National Standards Institute (ANSI) - Conference for Food Protection (CFP) Food Protection Manager accredited program or obtained within 30 days of hire. (Required in IL) ServeSafe preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong leadership ability and customer services skills
- Proficient in computer use including Microsoft Office Products
- Strong attention to detail and organizational and time management skills
- Project management, coaching, problem-solving, and process improvement skills
- Ability to be flexible, adapting to changing conditions in a fast-paced environment
