A successful candidate for this position will embody confidence, exercise good judgment, and be able to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with various constituencies, including students, senior staff, co-workers, and teachers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with the day-to-day administrative and Human Resources functions.
- Assist with new employee benefits and orientation.
- Verify I-9 documentation.
- Prepare new employee personnel files and keep personnel files current.
- Schedule and coordinate various meetings.
- Make photocopies, faxes, scan documents, and perform other clerical functions.
- Assist in preparing offer letters and 195.1 forms for new hires, promotions, etc.
- Prepare and issue ID/Attendance badges.
- Manage inventory for the HR Department and order supplies.
- Assist HR Manager with various projects and related duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of HR systems (UKG, Paylocity, ADP)
- Work in creating a positive work environment, following and implementing procedures and policies.
- Collaborate on various projects with other members of the organization as directed.
- Interact with IT support teams and other internal departments.
- Interact with external partners and consultants.
- Ad hoc duties, as it relates to the role.
Key Competencies & Requirements
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively.r
- Administrative experience of 3 years
- HR/Payroll experience of 3 Years
Qualifications:
- HS Diploma or GED required.
- Experience as an Administrative Assistant or similar experience.
- Bachelors and/or background in the Human Resources field preferred.
- Microsoft Office/Google Office proficiency.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
Schedule:
- 8-hour shift
- Monday to Friday
Ability to commute/relocate:
- New York: Reliably commute between work locations in Astoria, Corona, and Howard Beach (Required)
Job Type: Full-time Exempt
- Pay: $55,000 to $65,000 per year, depending on experience
