TES Staffing is looking for an Human Resources Assistant in Rochester, New York. Our client is a pillar of our community,
uniquely positioned to facilitate education, employment, and healthy living for individuals with disabilities. This role will be in a team of four, supporting the back end HR practices that keep this organization moving.
Details:
Contract to hire after four months
Monday - Friday 8-430p OR 9a-5p
Once trained and operating solo, ability to work from home
Pay: Depending on experience, $19-21/hr
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Tracks Employee Data
Creates, maintains and updates employee personnel files for 300+ employees. Many of which are 1099s
Maintains I-9’s, and other required employee information.
Performs data entry into ADP and other HRIS systems.
Provides pre-employment processing, including performing background checks.
Conducts agency orientation and supports the employee onboarding process.
- Creates and distributes employee identification badges.
- Tracks professional certifications and licensure.
- Processes Medicaid Fraud Checks monthly.
Processes employment and other status changes, including separations for staff, vendors, contractors, and others as required.
Processes unemployment claims.
Supports Human Resources Department in Administrative Functions
Responds to employment inquiries, and follows-up in a timely fashion; sends status updates and other communications as needed to departments during hiring process.
Updates the Employee Handbook and other documents as needed.
Coordinates the implementation and documentation of the staff development and training initiatives through RELIAS and other systems as needed.
Assists with audits and HR projects upon request.
Implements HR process and procedure redesign initiatives, and provides solution-oriented feedback.
Demonstrates Professionalism
Provides first level consultation and support to employees regarding Human Resources related matters; updates and/or escalates to HR Generalist as needed.
Maintains discretion at all times; handles confidential and proprietary information appropriately.
Abides by Code of Conduct, which incorporates the Corporate Compliance section.
Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma with at least two years’ experience in a Human Resources Department or equivalent required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
Proficiency in Zoom or Microsoft Teams.
Experience in a remote work environment preferred.
