Scope of Position: The HR Specialist supports the Plant Human Resource Manager by ensuring the administration of HR programs, processes, and policies are established and reinforces the Corning Values. The HR Specialist will assist in achieving or exceeding budgetary objectives in support of performance objectives while maintaining appropriate levels of HR service delivery. Key responsibilities in this role include achieving successful implementation of global HR business processes, ensuring plant compliance with HR-related legal and regulatory guidelines, data analysis and reporting, record-keeping, and building and delivering presentations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyzes current master data processes and develops strategies in collaboration with key stakeholders to improve process efficiencies and improve overall satisfaction of internal customers
- Develops dashboards and metric reports and conducts data profiling/analysis to measure effectiveness of data governance program within the organization
- Effectively deploys hiring processes for hourly workers and temporary employees
- Educates colleagues and customer groups on proper use of HR systems for which they are responsible
- Gathers and analyzes data on the performance and impact of HR programs, processes and policies
Required Skills:
- An understanding of technology and systems flow and controls with experience in data stewardship, governance, and analysis
- Strong MS Office suite skills, extensive knowledge in Microsoft Excel
- Demonstrated ability to effectively troubleshoot and provide master data strategies and solutions
- Ability to present details of complex data quality or workflow issues for internal review
- Ability to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner
- Successful track record in the administration of HR and business processes and programs
- Work experience in administrative and project roles
- Knowledge of employment laws and policies
- A minimum of 2 years of HR experience in a generalist or specialist role or equivalent

The range for this position is $66,534.00 - $91,485.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
