Overview
Performs intermediate technical work providing technical support for GIS project implementation and operation,
testing and enhancing GIS applications for the business operations of Electric Distribution and Transmission, Gas
Distribution and Transmission.
Responsibilities
This position requires knowledge and ability to perform a diverse array of GIS related work.
Possible development and administering web-based GIS applications, preparing GIS datasets, maps, database
reports and specialized queries.
This position requires an employee to be flexible, be able to multitask, think intuitively, implore time
management and project management skills, and possess troubleshooting ability.
Participate in and provide support for Capital and O&M project development and implementation.
Design, build, and implement comprehensive geospatial models to support business operations.
Lead training of users and create training material on how to utilize geospatial tools and data maintained by
department.
Leads analysis, development and implementation of departmental business practices and systems that meet the
needs of Asset Information.
Effectively communicates with all levels in the company by blending appropriate levels of technical and business
detail to ensure issues are thoroughly understood. Develops and maintains relationships with clients, peers,
vendors and management.
Perform and/or have a formal "Storm Role" in the Distribution Operations business in events of large storms or
major outages.
Qualifications
GIS Specialist II
Education/Experience/Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree in GIS or related discipline and a minimum of three years of experience or a minimum of seven years of relevant experience in lieu of the bachelor's degree.
Preferred Qualifications:
Employee must be well versed in ESRI products and be able to work with GIS data effectively.
Knowledge of geospatial data modeling and analysis.
Good planning and organizational skills with good written and oral communication skills.
Sr GIS Specialist
Education/Experience/Qualifications:

years of relevant experience in lieu of the bachelor's degree.
