PRIMARY ACOUNTABILITIES: Strong business partner with the plant manager; ability to communicate appropriately to voice concerns. Part of strategic planning and developing tactics.Ensures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable Human Resource federal and state requirements; conducting investigations; maintaining records; providing input on written responses or hearings on behalf of the companyResponsible for recruiting qualified applicants, completing initial interviews, scheduling department interviews, preemployment testing, conducting background checks, and processing new hire paperworkMaintains staffing matrix, facility organizational chart, and corresponding job descriptionsAdministration of HRIS ensuring that records are maintained, input timely and correctly entered for the following modules: time keeping system, employee performance, basic employee file, and employee benefitsPrepare and process semimonthly payroll; review and ensure accuracy of approved time sheets for hourly employees; input and track garnishment orders, benefit deductions, and any other special payroll deductions.Administration of employee benefit programs; medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and vacation accrualsOversees employee training and safety programs ensuring compliance is maintainedMaintains management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending Human Resource policies and proceduresMaintains relationships with staffing agencies, processing timecards, reviewing billing, and coordinating temporary employee schedules and assignmentsMaintains historical Human Resource records ensuring compliance is maintained for local, state, and federal regulatory authoritiesConducts employee investigations, providing conflict resolutions, and issuing coaching and counseling noticesWorks as a team with management when determining the best responses to employee relations issuesImplement, and maintain employee recognition programs and events fostering increased retention rates, employee morale and overall job satisfactionAdministers workers compensation benefit program, completes accident investigations, and implements corrective actionsRegular presence on the production floor and interactions with employees; keeping a pulse on employee happiness and company successRegular and predictable attendance is essential Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required. Preferably in Human Resources, Business Administration, or equivalent experience5 years of experience in Human Resources Management preferred2 years of experience in managing projects and or people2 years of prior workplace administration of a comprehensive safety program.Must have prior experience in a manufacturing or industrial workplaceAbility to work in an unstructured environment while making decisions quickly Strong recruiting and demonstrated ability to improve talent acquisition strategiesDemonstrated expertise training managers and employees
